From Trident Studies The Beatles recorded four takes of an original Paul McCartney song ‘Hey Jude’.
Paul McCartney wrote the chart-topping song to comfort John Lennon’s son, Julian, during his parents’ split. The Ballad dropped in August 1968 was the first single from their own record label, Apple Records. ‘Hey Jude’ runs over seven minutes. It was the longest single ever to dominate British charts. The song has sold over eight million copies and spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the US charts. Billboard has identified it as the 10th biggest song of all time.
