The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences strips the 1989 Best New Artist Grammy from Milli Vanilli because Rob Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan didn’t actually sing on their debut album, “Girl You Know It’s True.” It is the first time a Grammy has ever been revoked.
November 20, 1976
Paul Simon opens Saturday Night Live dressed as a turkey (in honor of Thanksgiving). He performs part of “Still Crazy After All These Years,” before telling the audience, “When the turkey concept was first brought up, I said there’s a very good chance I’m going to end up looking stupid.”

An animated Aerosmith perform “Walk This Way” on the “Flaming Moe’s” episode of The Simpsons. The band is one of the first musical guests on the show.
November 22, 1963
US president John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The incident inspires several songs, including Connie Francis’ “In The Summer Of His Years” and The Beach Boys’ “Warmth Of The Sun.”

Freddie Mercury of Queen dies of AIDS-related bronchial pneumonia in Kensington, London, England, at age 45.
November 25, 1996
Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, The Staple Singers, Ronnie Hawkins, and Dr. John join The Band for The Last Waltz, a farewell concert for the ages.
